Logo Change

I have had the same logo for almost 10 years. When I started this company in 2013, I had a vision for what I wanted the logo to be and had someone help me design it. I knew what font I wanted and a good idea of the logo mark I wanted to depict my style of shooting. At the beginning I shot on beaches a lot, which is still one of my favorite places to shoot. I naïvely chose to incorporate aperture blades as a setting sun over palm trees and sand dunes. Why was this naïve? Because every professional will tell you do not incorporate aperture blades or any outline of a camera for a logo. There are thousands of other photographers who do the same thing. It’s not unique. It’s not cool. And it’s been beat to death. But, I thought, mine was subtle so it wasn’t so bad.

I’ve enjoyed that logo over the last decade for my commercial work while using a different signature watermark for my personal works. I like to differentiate what’s a personal piece of what’s hired work. So, I am retiring the old logo after a hiatus from photography and replacing it with something that I hope invokes a premium feel with simplicity being the goal. You will continue to see the old logo watermarked on images until I can get all the images replaced.

So…here is the new logo!
